Justin Mitchell and I decided to do our picture story/advertisement on "Flagler's Few" a 30 minute movie based on two graphic novels that is being shot by the Flagler communication department. In the last semester a group of communication students have adapted the graphic novels to a movie script and are almost done shooting. Both me and Justin have been involved in this project and we chose to use this project to help get the word out on the movie. The movie will be editing over the next couple months and should be premiered during the spring 2011 semester.

Gambling

I chose to do my assignment on the social issue of gambling. I went to the poker room in Jacksonville. Once there I met one of the pitbosses, George, who told me that photography was frowned upon in gambling establishments but there were a few things I could take pictures of. I found it funny that George told me I could not take pictures of the ceiling or of the patrons. He was also very concerned about the angle of my camera when I was taking pictures.

These pictures are of 21 year old Richard Robinson, a student at Flagler College in the Communication Department. Richard currently lives in St. Augustine and works as on a charter boat.

Night Shots

These pictures were taken the night of Tuesday, the 26th of October, at the carousel, the lighthouse, in front of the Gypsy Cab restaurant and the Butterfield Art Gallery. I mostly used a low f-stop and a slow shutter speed.

The Saint Augustine Amateur Golf Tournament

These photos were taken at the Saint Augustine Amateur Golf Tournament on Sunday, October 24th. The tournament took place over the weekend starting Friday the 22nd of October and lasted through Sunday.
